The German Red Cross (GRC) saves lives, helps in emergencies, helps the poor and keeps an eye on the public international law.
The german red cross or "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (DRK) doesn't differentiate between nationality, race, religion or political opinion.
To be able to remain independant and trusted the DRK stays away from political, racial, religious and ideological conflicts.
The humanitarian help of the DRK goes beyond national borders. They also help worldwide in acute emergency situations and offer long term help for undeveloped countries like Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The German Red Cross (GRC) assists national sister societies in international co-operation upon request. In its international humanitarian operations, GRC headquarters act as a part of the world-wide Red Cross Movement.

The Red Cross is comprised of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as well as more than 180 national Red Cross/ Red Crescent Societies world-wide.
The co-operation among these components of the Movement is ruled by International Humanitarian Law, the Statutes of the Movement, the Principles and Rules for Disaster Relief and other international agreements.
